VAS Graduates Deployed To Hurricane Harvey

This past week Hurricane Harvey has turned into Tropical Storm Harvey which has devastated Texas. The flooding has turned the streets into rivers dropping a year’s worth of rain in just one week. The path of destruction has displaced many people from their homes seeking shelter from the flood waters.

With the catastrophic flooding has come the need for CAT adjusters to help assess the damage throughout the affected region. That is why VAS graduates were called upon to be immediately deployed to Texas right out of graduation. These independent adjusters will perform inspections for the insurance customers making sure they get the compensation they are entitled to under their policy so they can rebuild once the flood waters have subsided.

VAS insurance agency and independent firm partners have been able to count on the school to produce quality catastrophe adjusters to make comprehensive inspection assessments in the past, and now they are being asked to assist in the wake of Harvey’s destruction.

As these recent graduates are new to the insurance adjusting industry, it is good to know that they have the full support of the VAS mentorship program. If any of the VAS graduates run into a situation they are unable to figure out, they are able to rely on VAS instructors and mentors that have decades of experience in the catastrophic insurance adjusting field. The VAS graduate community is a close knit group, full of top-notch adjusters that are always willing to give their expertise and support to fellow VAS trained students.

Graduating from the Veteran Adjusting School is not an easy task, therefore, it carries weight in the insurance adjusting field. It takes hard work, organization, self-motivation, and dedication to become VAS trained, and that is why the school only accepts students that are able to display these attributes. That is also one reason why VAS was able to build insurance agency and independent firm partnerships.

As the flooding continues to wreak havoc in Texas, VAS graduates are on the job getting the compensation to the insurance customers that have lost so much this week.

CAT Adjuster

CAT Adjuster

Have you heard the term CAT adjuster and ever wondered what it means? A CAT adjuster is a specific type of insurance adjuster that is deployed to regions where a catastrophic event has occurred. This could be anything from a hurricane to a hailstorm. When these catastrophic events devastate a region, insurance agencies and independent firms will contract the work out to an independent CAT adjuster.

CAT Adjuster Pay

The insurance agencies and independent firms will pay the adjuster for each claim they are able to close which leads to a very high-income ceiling for a hard-working CAT adjuster. In fact, a common phrase in the industry is, “Make 6 figures in 6 months.” However, the typical income ranges from $70k – 100k in 6 – 9 months (depending on the ability of the catastrophe adjuster to close claims).

Self Employed

The CAT adjuster will generally spend weeks to months at a time in the affected region performing inspections in order to assess how much compensation the insurance customer is entitled to under their policy. The CAT adjuster is independently contracted so if the adjuster wants to keep getting claims and create lasting work relationships, they are expected to submit clean, comprehensive, and thorough reports.

Finding Work

Although this can be a very rewarding career, it can be difficult to get into without the proper training and connections. There is one catastrophic adjuster training school that can boast over 95% job placement for their graduates. Veteran Adjusting School or VAS has built relationships with independent firms and insurance agencies to hire their students right out of school.

VAS

Why is VAS so successful in getting their students hired? There are 3 major reasons:

  1. The 6-week VAS course curriculum combines interactive and traditional learning approaches to give the student the most thorough and in depth training available. The real-world storm simulation allows the student to experience what it will be like to perform an inspection when they graduate.
  2. VAS Insurance Partners know that VAS students are comprehensively trained and able to take claims the day they graduate and submit an exceptional work product every time.
  3. Working in the CAT adjuster industry is not easy. It takes hard work, dedication, organization, and self-motivation in order to have success in the field. That is why VAS is not looking for students, they are looking for dedication. They only accept students that display these attributes.

Working in the catastrophic insurance adjusting field is not for everyone. Do you have what it takes?

Tuition For Vets

Catastrophic insurance adjusters are deployed to a region that has been affected by a catastrophic event (hurricane, flood, wildfire, hailstorm, etc.). These CAT adjusters are independently contracted by insurance agencies and independent firms to perform inspections for the insurance company policy holders. They assess the damage in order to get these customers the compensation they are entitled to under their policy.

Some of the benefits to a career in the catastrophic insurance adjusting field include:

  • High earning potential – As CAT adjusters are paid per claim closed, there is a very high earning potential for hard-working adjusters. In fact, a common phrase among catastrophic adjusters is, “Make 6 figures in 6 months.”
  • Vacation time – CAT adjusters generally only work during the storm season which typically lasts from 6 to 9 months a year. This leaves plenty of vacation time to enjoy the fruits of their labors.
  • Helping people – After a catastrophic event, the people who have been affected are in need of compensation to rebuild. Catastrophe adjusters are able to help them get that compensation.

Why Veterans Are Perfect CAT Adjusters
